A tragic event unfolded today in Fgura, claiming the life of a young man engaged in electrical work. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 AM on Triq Mater Boni Consilii, where the 21-year-old from Wied il-Għajn was electrocuted while operating a cherry picker.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance. The man was urgently transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, but despite efforts to save him, he was declared deceased shortly after arrival.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the incident and has initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death. The Police, together with the Authority for Health and Safety at the Workplace, are conducting investigations to further understand the details of the incident.
