Eminem has made a triumphant return to the music scene with his latest single, “Houdini,” which has achieved the largest opening week for a single in 2024. This track, the first release from his forthcoming 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” has become Eminem’s 11th official UK Number 1 single.
“Houdini” is Eminem’s first UK chart-topping single since “Godzilla” in 2020, a collaboration with the late Juice WRLD. The song soared to the top spot with 104,800 chart units, including an impressive 13.3 million streams. Notably, this is Eminem’s first solo Number 1 single in the UK in 19 years, following “Like Toy Soldiers” which led the charts in 2005. Additionally, “Houdini” boasts the largest opening week for video streams (4 million) since Adele’s “Easy On Me” in October 2021, which had 4.58 million streams.
Adding to his accolades, “Houdini” marks Eminem’s biggest opening week since “Without Me” debuted at Number 1 in 2002. In a nostalgic twist, “Without Me” has also re-entered the UK Top 40, landing at position 38, after a 22-year absence.
