Two young children, aged three and five, have been hospitalized with serious injuries following a traffic accident in the limits of Ħal Far on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 PM. According to preliminary police investigations, a 26-year-old man from Senglea was riding a motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, he collided with a 5-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle.
At the time of the collision, a 3-year-old boy was also a passenger on the motorcycle.
Emergency medical teams arrived on the scene immediately to provide first aid. Both children were subsequently transported to the hospital via ambulance, where they were certified to be suffering from serious injuries.
Magistrate Monica Borg Galea has been informed of the case and has opened a formal inquiry. Police investigations into the circumstances of the accident are currently ongoing.
