Tragedy struck in Qala, Gozo, as a 27-year-old Frenchman lost his life in a jet ski accident. According to a statement from the Police, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30pm in Hondoq ir-Rummien. The victim fell off the jet ski, losing consciousness. Fortunately, a nearby individual on a dinghy came to his aid until medical teams arrived and transported him to Gozo General Hospital via ambulance. Sadly, the young man was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The victim was accompanied on the jet ski by a 25-year-old French woman, who thankfully emerged unscathed from the accident. An inquiry has been appointed by Police Magistrate Brigette Sultana, and investigations into the case are ongoing. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
