Manchester United has successfully signed 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro for €62m, beating Real Madrid to the punch. Yoro, regarded as one of Europe’s top young defenders, will join United for the upcoming season. This marks a significant move under the new management of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, who have been revitalizing the club since becoming minority owners.

In addition to Yoro, United has also secured Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, activating his €40m release clause to enhance their attacking options.

Following Yoro’s signing, Manchester United is reportedly close to finalizing personal terms with Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain. The club is also eyeing another center-back, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt as potential targets. Further, there’s speculation about a move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

The early actions in the Ratcliffe and INEOS era indicate a promising future for Manchester United, with Yoro and Zirkzee’s arrivals setting the tone for a busy transfer window.
