Celine Dion is rumored to make a stunning return to the stage at the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony this Friday. This will be her first performance since stepping away due to her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis in December 2022.

Dion arrived in Paris on Monday, staying at the Royal Monceau hotel near the Champs-Élysées, where Lady Gaga, another possible headliner, is also staying. Details of Dion’s performance remain secret.

Dion has been working hard on her recovery. “I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to perform,” she told Vogue France. “My body will let me know.”

The unique opening ceremony will feature a nautical parade along the Seine, ending near the Trocadero, opposite the Eiffel Tower, marking the first time the ceremony is held outside a stadium. The event will showcase iconic Parisian locations with 3,500 performers, including actors, dancers, and musicians.

Dion previously performed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, singing “The Power of the Dream” to a record 3.5 billion viewers worldwide. Recently, she voiced a video for Canadian Olympians called “L’invincible courage” with Michael J. Fox.
