Billy Ray Cyrus addressed the leaked audio clip where he insulted his estranged wife Firerose and daughter Miley Cyrus. The clip went viral quickly, revealing him scolding Firerose and mocking his ex, Tish. His lawyers issued a statement regarding the leak.
In a formal statement, Billy’s lawyers clarified the situation, explaining the context of Billy calling Miley “Devil.” Additionally, Billy defended himself on Instagram, stating, “Hell yeah, I was at my wit’s end. As days passed, I realized something was wrong before knowing she was a fraud.”
He added, “I didn’t know she was David Hodges’s ex-wife or that she had a felony arrest. I discovered everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She was trying to take over my career and usurp the Cyrus name. See you in court,” as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
Billy’s divorce lawyers, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, claimed Firerose leaked the audio to extract money from Billy during their divorce. They stated that Billy was unaware of being recorded.
