On September 29th, a remarkable event will take place: Kayak4Kate, a 100km kayak journey from Sicily to Malta, aimed at raising funds for Kate, a five-year-old girl suffering from the rare Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome. This genetic condition affects only around 250 people worldwide.
During an interview on Radio 105, Kate’s mother, Charmaine Ferrigi, explained how the syndrome impacts her daughter both physically and intellectually. Kate requires four hours of therapy daily to manage the effects of the condition.
The two dedicated kayakers, Robert Scherri and Andrew Pisani, are preparing extensively for this challenging journey. They hope to raise much-needed funds to support Kate’s ongoing therapies and medical needs. This initiative not only highlights their determination but also brings awareness to a rare condition that deeply affects families like Kate’s.
