A four-year-old boy is in critical condition following a near-drowning incident at a private residence in Marsaxlokk on Tuesday morning.

Incident Details

The Malta Police Force was alerted to the emergency on Triq il-Port Ruman at approximately 11:45 AM. Upon arrival, officers and a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital found the young child unconscious.

Reports indicate that the boy had fallen into a swimming pool and was found in distress. Bystanders at the residence managed to pull him from the pool water before emergency services arrived.

Medical Response and Investigation

The child was rushed by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where medical professionals later certified his condition as serious.

Current Status: The boy remains under intensive medical care following the pool accident.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the incident and has launched a formal inquiry. Police investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding how the child ended up in the pool.
