Prosecution Urges Jurors to Reject Lorin Scicluna’s ‘Lies’

The prosecution in the Lassana Cisse murder trial has explicitly urged jurors not to let former soldier Lorin Scicluna make a scapegoat of his co-accused, Francesco Fenech.
During Friday’s closing submissions, the prosecution delivered a sharp assessment of Scicluna’s defense, insisting that his constantly changing versions of events were riddled with lies. Addressing the jury directly, prosecutors delivered a stark warning: “Don’t let Lorin fool you.”
Scicluna is accused of deliberately attempting to shift the responsibility for the 2019 murder onto Fenech, who is being tried separately. To counter this defense strategy, the prosecution systematically reminded the jury of the core physical components of the crime that point directly back to Scicluna.
“It’s Lorin’s weapon. It’s Lorin’s car,” the prosecution stressed to the courtroom, anchoring their closing arguments on the tangible evidence to prevent Scicluna from deflecting blame.
