A 60-year-old man from Briżebbuġa is fighting for his life after falling from a ladder while doing maintenance work on a ship at Xatt il-Mollijet in Marsa. The incident occurred at approximately 8 AM and left the victim with severe injuries, according to sources at the scene.
First responders, including a medical team and an ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene and provided initial treatment to the victim before transporting him to the nearby Mater Dei Hospital. Despite their efforts, the man’s injuries were deemed to be serious, and his condition remains precarious.
The police were promptly notified of the incident, and Police Magistrate Gabriella Vella appointed an inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The Authority for Health and Safety at the Workplace has also launched an investigation into the incident. The investigations by the authorities are still ongoing.
