Hamrun Amateurs Football Club officially received recognition from the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organizations. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the members of the Sporting Community Football Club Hamrun Amateurs.

The club is best known for its men’s football team which competes in the Third Division Championship of the Malta Amateur Football Association. The current season is in its last phase, and Hamrun Amateurs finds itself in fifth place in the table with 12 points gained.

The club’s journey started with two brothers, Jürgen and Kurt Buhagiar, who shared a passion for football. A few months later, they were joined by Ramon Vella, and together they embarked on the project of setting up a new amateur football team. They started drawing up ideas, discussing strategies, and making plans for the future.

Their hard work paid off when the team was officially founded on 1 July 2022. Since then, the club has made significant progress, and its players have shown tremendous skill and dedication on the field. They have faced some tough competition, but their resilience and determination have helped them overcome the odds and secure a respectable position in the table.
