Sony has announced that its PlayStation hero shooter Concord will be taken offline on September 6, 2024, with all players set to receive full refunds. The decision was revealed today in a post on the PlayStation Blog, where game director Ryan Ellis acknowledged that while some elements of the game resonated with players, other aspects and the initial launch didn’t meet expectations.

As a result, Concord will be removed from sale immediately, allowing Sony and developer Firewalk Studios to reassess and explore new options that might better connect with the player base. Refunds will be automatically processed for those who purchased the game through the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct, with the funds returned to the original payment methods.

Players who bought Concord on Steam or the Epic Games Store will also receive refunds in the coming days. Physical copies present a bit more of a challenge, but players are encouraged to contact their retailers for refund details. Sony is likely coordinating a system to ensure all refunds are handled properly. Sony also clarified that once a refund is issued, access to the game will be revoked.

Concord was launched on August 23, 2024, but within just 11 days, it has been pulled from sale and will be offline for all players in less than two weeks after its debut.
