Former PN MP Karl Gouder was found dead on Tuesday, just two days after announcing his intention to run for the post of general secretary of the Nationalist Party. The 45-year-old’s body was discovered in a ditch in Valletta, close to the former Customs House. Authorities have ruled out any foul play in his death.
Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech confirmed the heartbreaking news in a social media post, where he offered his condolences to Gouder’s family and asked for their privacy to be respected during this difficult time.
Gouder had recently expressed his desire to fill the soon-to-be-vacant general secretary role, following Michael Piccinino’s decision to step down and run as a PN candidate in the next election. As the chief operations officer of the party’s media division, Gouder played a significant role in supporting Piccinino during his tenure.
