A major police investigation is underway following a high-value robbery at a jewelry store in Floriana on Thursday evening. Preliminary reports indicate that thieves escaped with gold items valued at approximately €200,000.

Details of the Incident

The theft occurred around 7:00 PM at a commercial establishment located on the busy St. Anne Street. Despite the central location and the timing of the incident, the perpetrators managed to carry out the heist and flee the scene before authorities arrived.

According to initial reports, the suspects entered the shop with their faces uncovered. Interestingly, early indications suggest that the individuals were not armed during the commission of the crime.

Current Status

Members of the Malta Police Force arrived shortly after the report was filed to secure the area and begin forensic analysis. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the shop and surrounding buildings on St. Anne Street to identify the suspects. Investigations remain ongoing.
