In a shocking incident, a car was catapulted 10ft into the air on a busy motorway after being struck by a stray tyre. The heart-stopping moment was captured on the dashcam of a Tesla, which was travelling on the freeway in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, on Thursday.
The footage shows a black Kia Soul travelling at high speed down the motorway, preparing to overtake a truck on its right. As the Kia draws level with a white pickup truck, its left tyre suddenly detaches and rolls under the front wheels of the car. The driver of the Kia has no time to react as the car is launched 10ft into the air, flipping over and landing on its nose. The impact drags the vehicle across the road and scatters debris in its wake.
