Hamrun Spartans have ascended to the top of the 360 Sports Malta Premier League standings after securing a 2-0 victory over Mosta earlier this Saturday afternoon.
Both of the Spartans’ goals came in the first half of the match. Joseph Mbong opened the scoring in the 11th minute after a brilliant individual effort, firing the ball into the net to give Hamrun the lead. Just moments before the halftime whistle, Lopes doubled their advantage with a well-placed header from an excellent corner kick delivered by Roko Prsa.
This result sees Hamrun Spartans move to the summit of the league table on their own, following Marsaxlokk’s earlier defeat to Floriana, who won their match with a score of 2-1.
